Accessible Workouts for Everyone

Celebrate inclusivity and accessibility this May with Y@HOME! The last week of May marks National Accessibility Week, where we celebrate ongoing efforts to ensure a more accessible and disability inclusive Canada. Since our inception, Y@HOME has strived to ensure YMCA fitness and wellness content can be accessible even for those unable to attend a local fitness centre. This may be because of barriers associated with cost or transportation, or physical barriers such as mobility, age, or even life stages such as pregnancy and menopause. 

In honour of this year's theme, "Breaking barriers together: Paving the way for an inclusive future," we've put together some of our favourite inclusive workouts to check out! From GentleFit classes for those with limited mobility, strength training for women in peri-menopause, safe workouts for pregnant women no matter their trimester, and mobility-specific workouts to prevent injuries, you’ll be able to find a workout that works for you!
