Stress Fighting Workouts

Whether you’re doing cardio, yoga, strength-training or Pilates, you may have noticed you feel better (albeit maybe a little tired) after working out. Maybe you have a clearer mind, or your mood has improved after an aggravating situation, or maybe you just have a satisfied feeling of accomplishment. These positive feelings come from the release of endorphins, which work to reduce stress and improve your sense of well-being. They can also help to reduce symptoms of depression.

If you’ve ever experienced the famed “runners high” after a good cardio session, that’s due to your body releasing endorphins!

The good news is, despite the name, you don’t need to run in order to experience these positive effects. Simply power-walking, swimming or riding a bicycle will do the trick, along with any of our indoor cardio workout sessions! Other forms of exercise, including strength-training, yoga, and Pilates, also release endorphins, so no matter how you like to work out, you can feel their mood-boosting benefits!
